Human Beings Are Like a Product

(The Creator Defines How We Live)

the creator

“The One who created the human being knows best how the human being should live. Ignoring the Creator’s guidance is not freedom — it is a slow path toward confusion, damage, and destruction.”

In our daily lives, we follow a simple and logical principle. Whenever we buy a product, we look for the manufacturer’s instructions. A mobile phone comes with a manual, a car comes with maintenance guidelines, and even a small electronic device comes with usage instructions. No sensible person throws away the instruction manual and starts operating the product based on personal assumptions. Doing so would lead to malfunction, damage, and eventual breakdown.

We want to know:

  • How to use the product
  • What to do and what not to do
  • How to maintain it
  • What precautions to take
  • What spare parts to use
  • What actions can damage it
  • What increases its lifespan
  • What voids the warranty

This basic logic applies even more strongly to human beings. Human beings are far more complex than any machine ever created. The human body, mind, emotions, relationships, and spiritual needs require precise balance and careful guidance. It is therefore illogical to assume that human beings can define their own way of life without guidance from their Creator.

The Creator, who designed and created human beings, has provided complete guidance for life through the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. This guidance explains how to live, what is permissible, what is forbidden, how to maintain relationships, how to build families, and how to prepare for the Hereafter. Yet, many people today try to live on their own terms, redefining morality, relationships, and even marriage according to personal desires. This approach is slowly weakening individuals, families, and societies across the world.

Understanding that human beings are not self-made and that the Creator defines how we live is essential for restoring balance, stability, and purpose in life.

The Product and Manufacturer Principle

Whenever a product is manufactured, it comes with instructions. These instructions are not optional; they are necessary for proper functioning. The manufacturer knows the limitations, strengths, and operating conditions of the product.  If a person ignores the instructions and operates the product carelessly, the result is predictable: damage, malfunction, and loss of performance.

For example, if a car owner ignores maintenance schedules, uses the wrong fuel, or neglects servicing, the car will eventually fail. The fault does not lie in the car but in the misuse of the product. Similarly, human beings cannot function properly without following the guidance of their Creator. Life is not random, and human existence is not without purpose. Just as every product has a manual, human life also has a manual. That manual is divine guidance.

The Same Principle Applies to Human Beings

Human beings are far more complex than any machine ever created.

  • A mobile phone has a manual.
  • A car has a manual.
  • A computer has a manual.
  • A medical device has a manual.

How can human beings — the most complex creation — exist without guidance?

This is where the fundamental reality becomes clear:

Human beings are created by the Creator, and only the Creator has the authority to define how human beings should live.
  • No one else has this authority.
  • Not society.
  • Not culture.
  • Not media.
  • Not governments.
  • Not philosophers.
  • Not influencers.
  • Not human desires.

Only the Creator.

The Creator Has Given the Complete Instruction Manual

The Creator did not leave human beings without guidance. He revealed the complete instruction manual: The Qur’an

Allah did not leave human beings without direction. He revealed the Qur’an as a complete guide for life. “A guidance for mankind and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185)

The Qur’an is described as guidance for all humanity. It provides clear instructions on how to live, how to worship, how to manage wealth, how to treat parents, how to build families, and how to conduct social and economic life. Another verse emphasizes its completeness: “And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things.” (Surah An-Nahl 16:89)

This means that the Qur’an provides principles and guidance covering all essential aspects of life. It is not limited to worship alone; it covers morality, family, society, business, justice, and personal conduct. Along with the practical implementation: The Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ While the Qur’an provides the guidance, the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ shows how to implement it in real life.

Allah says: “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example.” (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:21)

The Prophet ﷺ demonstrated how to live according to divine guidance. He showed how to be a husband, a father, a leader, a businessman, a neighbour, and a member of society. The Prophet ﷺ said: “I have left among you two things; you will never go astray as long as you hold fast to them: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah.” (Muwatta Imam Malik). This Hadith clearly shows that success and guidance depend on holding firmly to the Qur’an and Sunnah.

Together, they provide complete guidance for human life from birth to death.

They define:

  • How to live
  • What is permissible (Halal)
  • What is forbidden (Haram)
  • What is beneficial
  • What is harmful
  • How to maintain the heart
  • How to maintain relationships
  • How to manage wealth
  • How to build families
  • How to run society
  • How to prepare for the Hereafter
  • Rewards for obedience
  • Punishments for disobedience
  • Rights and responsibilities
  • Moral and ethical framework
  • Emotional and spiritual balance

Nothing essential for human life has been left undefined. The guidance is complete, clear, and timeless.

The Sunnah Is the Practical Demonstration

The Qur’an is the instruction manual. The Sunnah is the practical demonstration.

The Prophet ﷺ showed:

  • How to worship
  • How to marry
  • How to treat spouse
  • How to raise children
  • How to deal with wealth
  • How to handle conflict
  • How to manage emotions
  • How to lead society
  • How to maintain character
  • How to balance dunya and Akhirah

He lived the Qur’an in real life. This makes the guidance practical, realistic, and implementable.

The Modern Human Mistake

Despite having a complete instruction manual, many human beings today try to define life on their own terms. This is one of the biggest problems of the modern world.

People believe:

  • “I will decide what is right and wrong”
  • “I will define my lifestyle”
  • “I will create my own values”
  • “I will live the way I want”
  • “Religion should not interfere in life”
  • “Morality is personal”
  • “Everyone has their own truth”

This mind-set assumes that humans have authority over their own system of life. But in reality, human beings are not the creators. They are the creation. Creation does not define its own operating system. The Creator does.

Living without the Creator’s Instructions Leads to Breakdown

When a product is used against manufacturer instructions, it gets damaged. When a human being lives against divine instructions, life gets damaged. This damage appears in different forms:

  1. Emotional breakdown:  Anxiety, stress, depression, dissatisfaction, emptiness.
  2. Family breakdown: Divorce, conflicts, broken homes, unstable marriages.
  3. Moral breakdown: Dishonesty, cheating, injustice, corruption.
  4. Social breakdown: Crime, exploitation, oppression, greed.
  5. Spiritual breakdown: Distance from Allah, loss of purpose, loss of peace. The problem is not that human beings are weak. The problem is that the instruction manual is being ignored.

Redefining Marriage and the Damage to Society

One of the most serious consequences of ignoring divine guidance is the redefinition of marriage.  Marriage, in Islam, is a sacred institution designed to build families, provide emotional stability, and protect society. It is based on responsibility, commitment, love, mercy, and accountability before Allah.

Allah says: “And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find tranquillity in them, and He placed between you love and mercy.” (Surah Ar-Rum 30:21)

Marriage is meant to provide tranquillity, love, and mercy. However, modern society is redefining marriage in many ways:

  • Delaying marriage unnecessarily
  • Avoiding marriage completely
  • Treating marriage as temporary
  • Prioritizing personal freedom over family responsibility
  • Promoting casual relationships
  • Reducing commitment and accountability
  • Normalizing divorce for minor issues

These changes are weakening the institution of marriage. Many people now prefer to live alone rather than build families. Career, comfort, and personal independence are often prioritized over marriage and family life. If this trend continues, future generations may grow up without strong family systems, leading to loneliness, emotional instability, and social fragmentation. Societies where marriage weakens eventually face declining birth rates, aging populations, and broken social structures. The damage is not immediate, but it is gradual and deep. Marriage is not just a personal choice; it is a foundation of civilization. Ignoring divine guidance in marriage leads to the weakening of society itself.

The Creator Has Already Defined the Terms and Conditions

From birth to death, everything has been defined.

  • How to eat.
  • How to earn.
  • How to marry.
  • How to speak.
  • How to treat parents.
  • How to treat spouse.
  • How to raise children.
  • How to do business.
  • How to dress.
  • How to interact.
  • How to worship.
  • How to prepare for death.
  • How to prepare for the Hereafter.
  • Nothing has been left to guesswork.
  • The system is complete.
  • The terms and conditions are clear.
  • The guidance is preserved.
  • The responsibility is on human beings to follow it.

The Illusion of Living on Our Own Terms

Many people believe: “I have freedom to live the way I want.” But this freedom is an illusion. Because every action has consequences. Ignoring divine guidance does not remove accountability. Just like ignoring traffic rules leads to accidents, ignoring divine rules leads to life damage. The system of Allah is not restrictive. It is protective.

It is designed to preserve:

  • faith
  • life
  • family
  • wealth
  • dignity
  • society
  • and the hereafter

It is a system of mercy, not control. Guidance, not restriction. Protection, not limitation.

Consequences of Ignoring the Creator’s Instructions

When human beings ignore divine guidance, several consequences appear:

  • Loss of purpose
  • Emotional stress and anxiety
  • Broken families
  • Weak moral values
  • Social instability
  • Increase in loneliness and isolation
  • Decline in family systems
  • Spiritual emptiness

The Prophet ﷺ warned about this condition: “I have not left behind me any trial more harmful to men than women.” (Sahih al-Bukhari). This Hadith highlights the importance of maintaining proper moral and social boundaries and following divine guidance in relationships and marriage. When guidance is ignored, desires dominate decisions, and life becomes unstable.

Returning to the Creator’s Guidance

The solution is simple but powerful: return to the guidance of the Creator. Human beings must understand that true success lies in following the Qur’an and Sunnah in all aspects of life, including marriage, family, business, and personal conduct. Divine guidance is not meant to restrict life but to protect it.

It protects:

  • faith
  • family
  • morality
  • dignity
  • society
  • and the hereafter

When human beings follow divine instructions, life becomes balanced and peaceful. Marriage becomes stable. Families become strong. Society becomes healthy. And individuals find purpose and contentment.

The Reality Every Human Must Accept

  • A product must follow the manufacturer.
  • A machine must follow the manual.
  • A system must follow its design.
  • Human beings must follow the Creator.
  • The Qur’an is the instruction manual.
  • The Sunnah is the implementation guide.
  • Islam is the complete operating system.

And life becomes stable, peaceful, and meaningful only when human beings submit to the guidance of their Creator.

Conclusion

Human beings are not self-made, and they cannot define their own system of life without consequences. The Creator, who designed human beings, has already provided complete guidance through the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. ignoring this guidance leads to confusion, broken families, weakened marriages, and unstable societies. The modern trend of redefining marriage and life according to personal desires is slowly damaging the foundation of civilization and pushing future generations toward loneliness and isolation. True stability, peace, and success can only be achieved by returning to the Creator’s instructions and living according to divine guidance in every aspect of life.

Dua

O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, guide us to live according to Your instructions and protect us from following our desires and assumptions. Help us hold firmly to the Qur’an and the Sunnah and make them the foundation of our lives, our families, and our marriages. Grant us wisdom to understand your guidance, strength to follow it, and sincerity to implement it in every aspect of our lives. Protect our hearts from confusion, protect our families from breakdown, and protect our future generations from loneliness and misguidance. Fill our homes with tranquillity, love, and mercy, and make us among those who live and die upon your guidance.

Ameen.
